The main library and all branches are closed to the public ALL DAY on Wednesday May 1st. The main library and branches will reopen at their regularly scheduled time on Thursday.
The system is closed to the public due to staff training day. All library staff will be attending workshops at the main library on technology planning, fire safety, social media use, Summer Reading preparation, changes in Interlibrary Loan, and other work topics.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. at the main library. Everybody is welcome, and cookies, soda, and coffee will be served.
Here’s a chance to enjoy a meal inside the library! Come join the Friends of the Library tonight (Tues., April 16) at 5:30 p.m. at the main library (242 W. Main St., Ville Platte). We will be serving red beans and rice during a planning session for the Friends’ fundraisers. Everybody is welcome. Please come and bring a friend!
We’ve added some recent interior photos of the new main library. To see, please click on the red building icon and scroll down to the photo gallery beneath the building updates. See the multipurpose room, teen room, young children’s room, genealogy room, etc. begin to take shape!
Special thanks to the Food for Thought Book Club this week for the generous donation to the Friends of the Library to help furnish the public areas of the new main library!
All donations to the new main library furnishing project are tax deductible if made to the Friends, who have 501(c)3 status.
All donations to this project will be used to help make furnishings in the public areas of the new building special. For more information, please contact Friends president Paula Lafleur, 363-4991, or library outreach coordinator Suzy Lemoine, 363-1369.
Donations help make it possible to have quality service to the whole parish while keeping tax rates low.
Thank you, Food for Thought Book Club!
