The Evangeline Parish Library system (main and all branches) will be closed Tuesday March 8th for Mardi Gras.
The Mamou Branch Library will be closed on Monday March 7th, as well as the 8th.
Because of the Tuesday closure, Turkey Creek Branch and the Main Library (Ville Platte) will open to the public at 8 a.m. on Wed. March 9th, rather than their usual Wed. opening time of 10 a.m.
We wish everybody a safe and happy Mardi Gras!
- The Computer Foundations course in the Turkey Creek Branch today is full.
- The Computer Foundations course in Ville Platte at the Main Library tomorrow is full, with a waiting list.
- The Library Board of Control meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 28, has been canceled. The next Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 28.
Class slots are still available on Thursday Feb. 24th at Turkey Creek from 9 to 5. The Ville Platte class on Friday Feb. 25th has a waiting list.
The Pine Prairie Branch water leak has been repaired, and the building will reopen on Thurs. Feb. 24, for its normal Thursday hours (8 to 12).
Social studies projects in the Evangeline Parish public schools are due TOMORROW, Feb. 22nd! Public schools in the parish are closed today for President’s Day, but the Evangeline Parish Library system is open.
Students who wait until this afternoon to try to compose their projects on public access computers at the library are reminded that time is only one-half hour if others are waiting, and a maximum of three more half hour sessions if nobody is waiting. When others are waiting, patrons have to give up the computer after the first half hour and go back on the waiting list. Also, patrons are reminded that they MUST have their Evangeline Parish library card physically with them in order to use the computers.
Parents, please urge your students NOT to wait and to get to the library as early as possible today, Feb. 21st, if they have a project due tomorrow. Please also ensure that they have their library card with them.
We anticipate waiting lists for computer use this afternoon and students may have to wait and/or not receive enough time to complete their projects if they have waited until the afternoon before they are due in order to do them.
