The Bar None Petting Zoo will be at the Turkey Creek Branch Tues. June 3rd at 10 a.m.; at the Pine Prairie Branch Wed. June 4th at 10 a.m., and at the Mamou Teen Center Wed. June 4th at 2 p.m. On Thursday June 5th the Bar None will be at the Basile Branch at 10 a.m. and the Chataignier Village Hall at 3 p.m.
The Bar None will be in Ville Platte at a later date in the summer (date to be determined).
Everybody is welcome to attend any of these events throughout the parish. Admission is FREE. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The Bar None events are sponsored by the Friends of the Library through their Summer Reading grant. Thank you, Friends!
The Evangeline Parish Library, including all branches, will be closed for Memorial Day May 26th. The Main Library will not have Saturday hours on May 24th. We wish everybody a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks to popular demand, Overdrive has added special Children’s and Teen’s “Reading Rooms” to the Libraries Southwest Overdrive site. When you click on the site, please scroll down the page to the special icons for Children’s and Teen’s materials. You will find many age appropriate ebooks and e-audiobooks.
The main library and all branches are closed Friday April 18th in observance of Good Friday. In addition, the main library will have no Saturday hours on the 19th. Regular hours will resume on Monday April 21st.

Patriot Contracting, LLC has taken over the task of completing the new main library. Chris Reedy is site superintendent for the project. The work is projected to take up to 60 days.
The building and grounds of the new facility are NOT open to the public at this time. Please continue to use the current library at 242 W. Main St. The new library is still a construction site.
