Attention, ALL Summer Readers:  The deadline to turn in reading logs for prizes, etc. is before close of business Thurs. July 18th at Turkey Creek, and for all other branches and the main library the deadline is before close of business Friday July 19th.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Each library branch is featuring a branch manager’s special program, with times and dates as follows: Tues. July 16 at 10 a.m. Turkey Creek and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Ville Platte; Wed. July 17 at 10 a.m. Pine Prairie and 2 p.m. Mamou, and Thurs. July 18 at 10 a.m. Basile and 3 p.m. Chataignier.  Please call the branch nearest you for more information.

The Evangeline Parish Library Board of Control will meet Monday, July 15 at 4 p.m. at the main library (242 W. Main St., Ville Platte).  The meeting is open to everybody, and public attendance and comments are encouraged.  Refreshments will be served.  An agenda will be posted at the library no later than Friday July 12th.

The Library is proud to participate, along with Tourism and other agencies, in the Bastille Day celebration from 9 a.m. till noon  on Sunday, July 14, at the Evangeline Parish courthouse in Ville Platte.  Look for information about the library and the new building project in the Tourism booth.

The Main Library and all branches will be closed for the 4th of July holiday Thursday July 4th through Sunday July 7th.  The Main Library and branches will reopen at their regularly scheduled times and dates the next week.  The governor has declared  Friday July 5th a State holiday this year, and the parish is also closing for the holiday.  We wish everybody a happy and safe holiday in celebration of the founding of our nation.
