The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society is pleased to announce guest speaker Jim Bradshaw.  He will speak Sat. Oct. 15th at the main library.  The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.  Admission is free.

The annual Evangeline Parish Library Book Fest and Friends of the Library Book Sale will take place on Sat. Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Northside Civic Center in Ville Platte.  Admission is free.

James Fogleman will speak on “Prehistoric Trade in Central Louisiana” on Tuesday Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at the main library.  There will also be an exhibit display of artifacts and artifact identification for the audience.  The event is open to everybody, and admission is free.  Call (337) 363-1369 by Thurs. The Evangeline Parish Library Board of Control will meet Monday, Aug. 29, at 4 pm at the main library in Ville Platte.  The meeting is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.  An agenda will be posted at the main library no later than Friday, Aug. 26.
