The main library and all branch libraries will be closed until 1 pm on Wed. May 2nd due to a staff workshop in preparation for Summer Reading. Summer Reading registration will begin May 21st.

Everybody is invited to a reception from 4 to 6 Monday April 30th at the Mamou Library. We are honoring retiring branch manager Flo Deshotel. “Miss Flo” has been with the library since 1988 and will be greatly missed. Please come by and wish her a great retirement.
The new Mamou branch manager, effective May 1st, will be Angela Henry.
The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society will meet Saturday April 21st at 9:30 am at the main library (242 W. Main St., Ville Platte). Everybody is welcome. Come learn more about local history and family research.
A FREE one-day course in PowerPoint, level 1, will be offered at the main library on Tues. May 29 from 9 to 5. To register or get on the waiting list, call 888.487.2700 or go to lajacc.state.lib.la.us/training. This is a grant-sponsored course for ages 16 and up.
