The library Board of Control and staff prayed that our patrons around the parish survived Hurricane Laura without major concerns to health or property.
With kids at home for another week it is worth reprinting some resources for parents and kids as they prepare to go back to school… eventually:
“The Brave Learner: Finding Everyday Magic in Homeschool, Learning, and Life” by Julie Bogart, “How to Tutor Your Own Child” by Marina K. Ruben, “What Your 1st – 5th Grader Needs to Know: Fundamentals of a Good First Grade Education” by E.D. Hirsch, Jr., “ The Ultimate Book Of Homeschooling Ideas for Kids ages 3-12” by Linda Dobson, “Common Core Standards for Parents” by Jared Myracle, “It’s the First Day of School”!” by Charles Schultz, “Do Not Bring Your Dragon to the Last Day of School” by Julie Gassman, “Pippi Goes to School” by Michael Chesworth, and “School Daze: A book of Riddles About School”, by Michael Dahl. Two kiddie DVD’s are: The First Day of School (Nickelodeon) and Curious George: Back to School (PBS Kids)
The staff genuinely appreciates the never-ending understanding, patience and support it continues to receive from all patrons! Please get updates at evangelinelibrary.org or on our Facebook page and continue to request books and other materials by phone or by email at evangeline_parish@yahoo.com.
