Summer Reading all over Evangeline Parish has begun! This week on Tuesday through Thursday, June 7th, 8th & 9th, you can enjoy the unique talents of Chatty the Mime from New Orleans!  Chatty the Mime has captivated audiences for years with her playful antics and whimsical routines. Skilled at object manipulation, she is best known for her juggling skills, especially with her trademark bowler hat. Chatty entertains all ages with juggling, clowning, mime, and magic. She will perform at the Turkey Creek branch library on Tuesday @ 10 am then at the Chataignier branch library @ 2 pm. On Wednesday she will be at the Pine Prairie branch library @ 10 am then the Mamou branch @ 2 pm. On Thursday she will perform at the Basile branch library @ 10 am and then at the Ville Platte main library @ 2 pm offering families multiple opportunities to see Chatty the Mime while she in Evangeline Parish! And, don’t forget to register for the reading programs that are unique to each branch library that reward kids with prizes for  books, ebooks, and audiobooks that they check out and enjoy! We have a program for the adults too! Just ask!

The library Board of Control and staff wishes all a happy and memorable Memorial Day holiday!The main library and all branches will be closed on May 30th to celebrate the holiday.
NEW now at the Main Library on Tuesdays @ 1 pm we are hosting “Allons Parle en François”, an opportunity for anyone who wants to speak or listen to our beautiful French language. Coffee is included with this FREE program! Also, this Monday, 5/23/22, the kids club, Brilliant Butterflies will meet at 4 pm to make crafts. Parents are encouraged to participate.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 4th for our Summer Reading Kickoff event with the impressive KUBUKI DANCERS! They will be “breakin it down” at the main library at 10 am for a morning of free entertainment, inspiration, and motivation. We hope to draw the interest of our Tweens and Teens especially!
