Due to the library’s late opening, Lou Hulin, the Obamacare Navigator assigned to cover the Evangeline Parish Library, may be rescheduling her appointments for Tues. Feb. 11th. Please call her at (337) 298-5461 before driving to the library for an appointment on Feb. 11th. Remember, the libraries will not open until 10 a.m. due to the weather situation.
Due to the uncertain weather situation and for safety of staff and patrons, the Main Library and all branches will open late Tues. Feb. 11th. The planned opening time is 10 a.m., unless circumstances cause us to have to delay opening further.
Another winter storm is forecast to affect possibly portions of our service area from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. tomorrow Feb. 6th. As a result some or all of the 6 library facilities may have delayed openings or may be closed tomorrow Feb. 6th.
Please call the branch before coming to check to see if it is open. Phone numbers are as follows: Ville Platte, (337) 363-1369; Basile (337) 432-6794; Chataignier (337) 885-2028; Mamou (337) 468-5750, Pine Prairie (337) 599-3179; and Turkey Creek (337) 461-2304.
Some or all may be closed, depending on conditions on the roads. If you do not get an answer on the phone, please assume closed.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
The Friends of the Library will hold their next meeting Tues. Feb. 18th at 5:30 at the main library. Everybody is welcome.
Did you have items checked out that became overdue while the library was closed for the ice storm and hazardous road conditions? No problem! Any item returned in good condition through close of business Friday Feb. 7th will have all fines on it waived.
Items can be returned to ANY branch of the Evangeline Parish Library (Ville Platte, Mamou, Pine Prairie, Chataignier, Basile, or Turkey Creek), regardless of from which branch the items were checked out.
Please note that not all branches are open the same days or hours, so please check branch information on this website or call before coming.
