An organizational meeting was held Tuesday, May 31st, to organize the first teen book club for our library system! In attendance were teens from Pine Prairie High, Mamou High and Ville Platte High. The club name they chose is “Divine Minds” and their first book choice is “Divergent” by Veronica Roth. The June meeting date is set for Tuesday, June 14th @ 6pm. New members are invited! Our kick off event is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th @ 10 am at the main library in Ville Platte,  with a special storytelling experience with The Louisiana Mermaid, Venessa Lewis!

Previously we had 6:30 pm as the beginning time for this reception, but we have been notified by the teacher in charge of the exhibit that the reception is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 10th.

The students have put together a great exhibit, which will be open to the public in the main library multipurpose room all of this week.
