The agenda for the May 16, 2017, Library Board of Control meeting is posted on this website in the link Board Agendas and Minutes.  The agenda is also posted at the main library and branches.  The meeting will be 4 pm Tuesday May 17th at the main library (Ville Platte) in the multipurpose room.  The meeting is open to the public, and public participation is invited and encouraged.  Refreshments will be served.

The Main Library (Ville Platte) and branches that are normally open on Thursday morning will open to the public at 10 am.  There will likely be computer issues following the storm and power outages of last night.  

The main library (Ville Platte) and the Pine Prairie and Mamou branches will close at 12 noon today Wednesday May 3rd due to the storm so that we can get all staff safely home and off the roads between the storm bands.  Basile branch, which is in the path of the storm system first, may close earlier than noon.  Chataignier and Turkey Creek branches will not be open today at all.  We expect to reopen at regularly scheduled times tomorrow Thursday May 4th.   

The main library (Ville Platte) and the three largest branches (Basile, Mamou, and Pine Prairie) will all open tomorrow.  However, there may be computer problems due to the storms, and the computers may not be available.  Chataignier Branch will not open tomorrow afternoon.

Some staff have flooded homes or impassible roads and may not be coming in.  We ask for your patience and understanding if there are problems or delays in service.
