The Basile Branch Library is on Stagg Ave. in Basile, right across from Basile State Bank.  On Thursday May 25th, the branch will have a ribbon cutting, followed by cake and punch throughout the day, from 10 am to 4 pm.  Everybody is welcome.  Come admire the branch’s new look and celebrate having it open and ready for Summer Reading!

The agenda for the May 16, 2017, Library Board of Control meeting is posted on this website in the link Board Agendas and Minutes.  The agenda is also posted at the main library and branches.  The meeting will be 4 pm Tuesday May 17th at the main library (Ville Platte) in the multipurpose room.  The meeting is open to the public, and public participation is invited and encouraged.  Refreshments will be served.

The Main Library (Ville Platte) and branches that are normally open on Thursday morning will open to the public at 10 am.  There will likely be computer issues following the storm and power outages of last night.  

The main library (Ville Platte) and the Pine Prairie and Mamou branches will close at 12 noon today Wednesday May 3rd due to the storm so that we can get all staff safely home and off the roads between the storm bands.  Basile branch, which is in the path of the storm system first, may close earlier than noon.  Chataignier and Turkey Creek branches will not be open today at all.  We expect to reopen at regularly scheduled times tomorrow Thursday May 4th.
