Tweens, teens and the general public is invited to meet this outstanding young teen, Alyssa Carson, from Baton Rouge in a Meet & Greet event Saturday July 29th from 10 am to 11:45 am. She will speak at 10 am and take questions after. Also, she will be available to take photos and sign special bookmarks:)

We are introducing another great new program at the main library in the multipurpose room! On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday we will have lots of fun with “Tumblebooks” at 4:30 pm. This is about a half hour event each day, and you can drop in on any of the days and enjoy the fun–we will feature different Tumblebooks content each day, including some books and games in Spanish or French. Tumblebooks look gorgeous projected on the multipurpose room wall, and the animation is outstanding. Best of all, you can also access the same content for FREE from your home computer if you log in through the library website. We are monitoring the situation in the Gulf and may have changes to library schedules this week. Branches and the main library may close early, have delayed openings, or not open at all on some days this week if weather conditions make driving and roads especially dangerous. Also, programs scheduled for this week may have to be cancelled or rescheduled. We will post notifications as conditions change and will also notify KVPI about any closures, etc. Thank you for understanding as this situation is still uncertain.

Storyteller, actress & author Daphne Thomas will be at the Turkey Creek Branch today, 6/6/17, @ 10 am then Ville Platte Main at 2 & 6 pm. She will perform at the Pine Prairie Branch tomorrow, 6/7/17, at 10 am then at the Mamou Teen Center @ 2pm and on Thursday, 6/8/17, she will perform at the Basile Branch @ 10 am and the Chataignier Village Hall at 3 pm.
