2. Update on the progress of the new Basile library project.
3. The date is set now for the Library Fall Fest: Saturday, October 19, 2024 / 9am -1 pm

2. Approval of the new Basile Branch Library Change Order to close in the patio and use it as a smaller meeting room.  .
3. Approve Payment #1 from Pat Williams Construction, LLC in the amount of $73,210.99 and Engineering Invoice in the amount of $1,158.00 for the new Basile Branch Library construction project that began on July 31, 2024.
4. 2024 was a tax reassessment year.  The Police Jury approved the new tax rolls which rolled back our previous millage from 5.3 to 4.76 mil
5. Request to establish two new Savings Accounts: (1) expansion of the Turkey Creek Branch and (2) the expansion of the Pine Prairie Branch in the amount of $100-150,000 each.
6. Review the Expansion Construction quotes received for the Turkey Creek Branch & the Pine Prairie Branch.
7. Review and approve the quote from Acadiana Security to provide monitored fire alarms at main and all branches and entry alarms at Mamou, Pine Prairie & Turkey Creek.
8. Approval of Records Retention Schedule.
9. Reappoint Board Member Faye Langley whose term expired on 7/2024.The reappointment would expire on 8/2028.
10. Distribute the new Orientation Manual for Library Directors and Trustees recently released by the Louisiana State Library.
11. Evangeline Parish Library is participating in a pilot program linking libraries and parks. It will begin in October.
12. Reminder that yearly ethics training, cyber security, and sexual harassment prevention training must be completed before December 31, 2024.

The main library and all branches will close today, Tuesday, 9/10/24, at 2 pm and will remain closed all day Wednesday, 9/11/24. Please stay tuned to KVPI for updates. We wish all of our patrons from around the parish safety and resilience through the challenging weather that is expected.

Also, let us never forget those we lost in the 9/11 tragedy.

As we head into the coming days, we are closely monitoring the weather here in Evangeline Parish. The safety of our staff, children, and families is our top priority as this storm system develops. We will be in contact with local authorities to assess potential impacts. Note, it is our practice to close the libraries around the parish when the schools are closed due to weather events.
