Happy, happy Father’s Day wishes from the staff and library board members! Summer Reading performers continue to bring joy to the folks of Evangeline Parish! This week on Tuesday through Thursday, June 21st, 22nd & 23rd , folks can enjoy the unique talents of a VENTRILOQUIST!  Her name is Donna Lavergne and her program is called Donna & Pals! She will perform at the Turkey Creek branch library on Tuesday @ 10 am then at the Chataignier branch library @ 2 pm. On Wednesday she will be at the Pine Prairie branch library @ 10 am then the Mamou branch @ 2 pm. On Thursday she will perform at the Basile branch library @ 10 am and then at the Ville Platte main library @ 2 pm offering families multiple opportunities to enjoy her and unique entertainment.  Don’t forget to register for the reading programs that are unique to each branch library that reward kids with prizes for books, Ebooks, and audiobooks that they check out and enjoy! We have a program for the adults too! Just ask!

CLOSURE NOTICE: In observance of the federal holiday, Juneteenth, the main library and all branches will be closed on Monday, June 20th.

NEW: The last Tuesday of each month the main library in Ville Platte will host a GRIEF COUNSELING opportunity at 2 pm for anyone in need. This counseling will be free of charge and will be offered by the Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care. The counselor is Delilah Elmore.  The first session is June 28, 2022 AT 2 pm in the Genealogy Room on a first come first serve basis.

 Ville Platte main library will host Medicare Seminars on Tuesday, June 14th from 1 – 4 pm and also on Wednesday, June 15th from 11 am – 2 pm. These informational seminars are free to the public.

 Note to our Quilters: The group will now meet at 10 am on Thursday mornings due to Summer Reading programs.

Skilled at object manipulation, she is best known for her juggling skills, especially with her trademark bowler hat. Chatty entertains all ages with juggling, clowning, mime, and magic.
