Summer Reading fun continues this week with programs at the main library and all branches on the same date and times as last week: Tuesday, July 19th, Turkey Creek branch @ 10 am for “Ocean Bingo” and Chataignier branch at 2 pm for “Decorate Planter Pots and add Flowers”; Wednesday, July 20th, Pine Prairie branch at 10 am for “Kids Bingo” then Mamou branch @ 2pm “Shark Craft & Storytime”; Thursday, July 21st , Basile branch at 10 am for “Kids Bingo” then Ville Platte main at 2 pm for “Birthday Bingo”. The new Evangeline Parish Writers Guild will meet on Saturday, July 23rd at 10 am at the main library to meet and organized. All published authors, aspiring writers, and anyone interested in learning more about the organization are invited.
NEW: The last Tuesday of each month the main library in Ville Platte will host a GRIEF COUNSELING opportunity at 2 pm for anyone in need. This counseling will be free of charge and is offered by the Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care. The counselor is Delilah Elmore. Date: Tuesday, July 26th, at 2 pm in the Genealogy Room on a first come first serve basis. Also, effective July 14th, the main library and all branches will begin accepting payments for fines, copies, faxes and other library related services using a CREDIT or DEBIT card for a minimum payment of $1.00. A service fee of $.50 per transaction will be applied.
