Registration at all libraries begins on May 30th. Calendars will be included in the registration bags. Kick off date with entertainers is Tuesday, June 6th! Library Fest 2023 was a huge success! Thanks to all who played a role in making this event take place. Evangeline Parish Library would like to thank all vendors, authors, cooks, artists, social clubs and the citizens of the community for their support for the main library and all branch libraries. Library Fest on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 9 am to 1 pm on the grounds of the main library in Ville Platte is where you’ll meet our unique and diverse COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS and COOKS: Here’s a “hint” of what they’ll be promoting or selling: Information will be available from the Evangeline Genealogical & Historical Society, Sisters on the Go – Breast Cancer Awareness, Krewe de Evangeline Coalition, Blood Donor Services and Southern Draw Lab Services. A variety of food will be offered by T’Nay Arvie, Natasha Edwards aka Saucin with Tashh, Sweets by the Catholic Daughters, Variety foods by Mona Charles, Pasta by Marie Lavigne, Food Truck delights by Myra Fontenot, BBQ by Ava Jean, and Lemonade by the 4-H students. YUM!! AND THAT’S A WRAP for our Community Participants and Cooks as we do not have any spaces left this year. If you missed the sign-up deadline, please come to the festival anyway and be a part of our 2024 festival! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for information.
Tuesday May 9th our monthly “Computer Tutor Support “ opportunity with Tobin Deville is being offered at the following branches: Ville Platte Main @ 9-10 am, Turkey Creek Branch @ 10:30 – 11:30 am, Pine Prairie Branch @ 12 noon – 1 pm, Mamou Branch @ 1:30 – 2:30 pm, Basile Branch @ 3- 4 pm and Chataignier Branch @ 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Also on Tuesday, May 9th at 3 pm at the main library in Ville Platte,  Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care will be offering support and resources for Veterans with a program called “Warriors Mission: Community and Compassion. Veterans Supporting Veterans” Please share this wonderful opportunity for our Veterans and their families. This program is FREE to the public.
