The Library Board of Control meeting originally scheduled for Easter Monday April 25th will be rescheduled in May.  The new date of the meeting will be announced and posted at least a week in advance.

A representative of the Acadiana Arts Council will be here for a grant meeting on Wednesday April 13th at 11 a.m.  All interested organizations are welcome to attend.

The Library will be closed Saturday April 23rd for Holy Saturday.  The Library system will resume regular hours on Monday April 25th.

The Evangeline Parish Library system (main library and all branches) will be closed Friday, April 22nd, in observance of Good Friday.

Regular voting for the Library Property Tax Continuation will be held April 30th.  All parish registered voters are eligible to vote at their regular polling places.  The Proposition is to continue the existing library property tax for 15 years at 5.21 mills (the same rate that property tax payers currently pay).  This is a continuation of the existing tax, not an additional tax.  It is the only tax to fund the entire library system and all of its existing facilities (main library and five branch libraries).  There is no other tax that funds the library.  For more information, please see the informational flyers available at any of the library branches, or call 337.363.1369.
