Wednesday, July 19th is going to be a big day!! Beginning @ 2 pm, the main library will host “Kid’s Bingo” with lots of prizes. Then at 3 pm Miss Acadiana USA 2023, Anna Steckler, will present her “Healthy Snack Habits” for ages 5-15! (We had to change her date to July 19th in lieu of the 20th). Her program will be followed at 4 pm by a “Kid’s Painting” opportunity!
Our July “Artist of the Month” is the Evangeline Arts Council and our “Co-Artist of the Month” is Phil Miller from Chataignier. Please come by to see the unique art created by kids with the EAC and the unusual works by Phil Miller using reclaimed wood that is indigenous to our area like Cedar, Chinese Tallow (Chicken Trees), China ball, and Eucalyptus. He really excels in reclaiming wood affected by Carpenter Bees! See samples of his coasters & photos of his custom photo frames on display at the main library in Ville Platte.
Please visit the Facebook page of your favorite library branch to see information about programs unique to them. Also, visit our website www.evangelinelibrary.org for updates. You can always call the main library @ 337-363-1369 or send an email to [email protected] for more information and never forget that libraries do change lives…. even in the cloud!
