The business originally planned for the Dec. 19th board meeting (2012 budget amendment and adoption of 2013 budget) was included in the Nov. 29th board meeting. This was done so that the board-approved budgets could go forward to the police jury for inclusion in their Dec. 17th budget hearing. Following that public hearing, the police jury approved the amended 2012 budgets and initial 2013 budgets.
The next Library Board of Control meeting will take place in January 2013, specific date and time to be announced as soon as possible.
The Library mourns the death of Janice “Jan” Smith, who directed the Evangeline Parish Library for five years during the 1990’s and was instrumental in the founding of the Chataignier Branch. The Library Board and staff extend their deepest sympathy to Jan’s family and friends.
