The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society will meet Saturday, Jan. 19th, at 9:30 a.m. at the main library. Everybody is welcome. Come and learn more about researching family history and about local history.
The Chataignier Branch is still closed, and likely will remain closed at least until Wed., Jan. 16. We apologize for the delay in reopening.
Please consider using the Mamou branch (open 8 to 5, Monday through Friday) or one of our other branches until Chataignier reopens following the heavy rains and road floading.
Currently the Chataignier parking lot is still flooded, and roads near the library still have water issues.
Due to road conditions in Chataignier, the Chataignier Branch will not reopen until next week. All other branches are back to their normal schedules of operation.
Thank you for your cooperation and support during the rains and flooding this week. The Library extends special thanks to board member Wade Riley and staff members Angie Henry, Becky Leger, and Suzy Lemoine for checking buildings and equipment during the weather closure.
The Main Library and all branches are closed Monday Jan. 21, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at the main library (242 W. Main St., Ville Platte) Saturday Jan. 19th at 9:30 am. Everybody is invited.
