The Library Board of Control voted August a “fine forgiveness” month.  Here’s how it works:

  • Any item returned in GOOD condition during August will have all FINES waived on it. (Note that certain fees may still apply for Interlibrary Loan items or DVDs.)
  • Fines on any item that was  returned prior to August may be reduced (not eliminated) if the balance due on the fines for the item is paid in full in one payment during August.  The amount of reduction will be determined by the branch manager or  the circulation manager. (Again, please note that certain fees may still apply for Interlibrary Loan items or DVDs).
  • Please note that replacement costs, etc. for lost or damaged items will still apply.

For more information, please call 363-1369 or use the “Contact us” form on this website.

Families: This is a great time to make sure that all library books from the summer have been returned.

This is also a great time to make sure your library card is in good standing for use during the school year.

Congratulations to Madison Pelican of Basile.  Madison read the most books in the age 8 to 16 range during Summer Reading.  She will be awarded her special prize at the main library on Thursday July 25th at 2 p.m.  Andrew Dugas, Area Operations Manager for CenturyLink, will present the prize to Madison.

CenturyLink is also sponsoring refreshments for the award ceremony.  Everybody is welcome to come and enjoy cake and punch.  CenturyLink will also have information available on its low-cost, high-speed internet options for qualifying families.
