The Main library and all branches will be closed Monday, 9/2/2019, in recognition of the Labor Day Holiday. The Library Board of Directors and Staff around the parish extend a sincere “Happy Labor Day” celebration to all.
Tuesday & Thursday afternoon, Ms. Pat’s “Story Time with Crafts” continues @ 3:30 pm for ages 2-15. Her programs will be in either the Children’s Room or Multipurpose room.
Our Wednesday pre-teen/teen “Books & Beyond” club will be meeting at 4pm with staff member Tina Davis! New members are always welcomed.
The Basile Branch library will host its first conversational French program called “Conversation De Cafe” on Tuesday, September 3rd at 9:00am. Please spread the word and bring your French speaking friends to help others learn and continue our Cajun heritage!
Early Notices and Updates: Tuesday, September 17th, the Main library will partner with State Bank to offer our SECOND full 5-week FINANCIAL EDUCATION BOOT CAMP. This camp is FREE to the public but registration is required. The dates are September 17, 24 and Oct. 1, 8 & 15, 2019 @ 5:30 pm. This is the first posting of the variety of VENDORS so far who WILL BE at BOOKFEST on Saturday, October 26, 2019: Pat Fontenot, Brecky Thomas, Evangeline Arts Council, Ginni Lawrence, Carol Doyle, Montes Estes, Jawaski O’Neal Frank, Cajun Partie, Janeva Batiste, Paula Deville. They will be selling a wide, wide variety of products and items. Details will be posted in October. Please get the word out that authors, vendors, community information agencies, cooks, musicians, and anyone looking to promote or sell their goods are invited to participate. Deadline to get a spot is October 15th.

Oui! The Ville Platte Main Library Monday afternoon conversational French program, “Allons Parler en Français, is growing! This week folks will have a chance to look at our collection of French books. This is a FREE opportunity for the public to speak or listen to this beautiful language. Join in at 3:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room of the main library.
