Allons Parler en Français, our friendly, relaxed conversationnel program continues. This is a free program on Monday afternoons at 3:30 pm at the main library in Ville Platte. Please share and mention that the coffee is always hot! Our Basile branch Library is also hosting a French Table every other Tuesday at 9 am. The next one is Tuesday, November 26^th. For the youngsters, Ms. Pat’s Mother Goose “Story hour” has changed.  It will only be offered now on Tuesday afternoons @ 3:30 pm in the Children’s Room. Please share.

Our Wednesday “Books & Beyond” program with Tina Davis for ages 8 – 16, will meet at 4 pm. This week kids will create art with masking tape! New members are always welcomed.   

The Mystery Book Club will meet this Wednesday, 11/20/19 to discuss their recent choice due to the Thanksgiving holiday. New members are always welcomed and the coffee is always hot!

EARLY NOTICE: The main library and all branches will be closed to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, 11/28/19 and also on Friday and Saturday – 11/29 & 30/2019.

The main library and all branches will be closed Monday, November 11^th to celebrate Veterans Day. We salute all of our veterans!

Our Basile branch Library is also hosting a French Table every other Tuesday at 9 am. This week is the first one is Tuesday, November 12^th. Please share this good news!

Tuesday, 11/12/19, we will have two authors from Baton Rouge, Glen Duncan and Curtis Van, who will speak to the Rotary Club then be at the library at 1:30 pm for a meet and greet. Mr. Duncan and Mr. Van along with Jay Dardenne wrote a compelling story about the Louisiana Flag: “A Modern History of the Louisiana Pelican Flag: or A Tale of the surprisingly difficult quest for the “official” state flag! The public is invited to the library for a short meet and greet.

For the youngsters, Ms. Pat’s Mother Goose Tuesday and Thursday “Storytime with Crafts” continues @ 3:30 pm in the Children’s Room.

Our huge Friends of the Library book sale will continue on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Please get the word out that we still have lots of donated or withdrawn books that folks can buy for $1 a box and begin to build their own home libraries! Great opportunity for home schoolers too!
