CORRECTED NOTICE TO OUR VALUED PATRONS:
Given global concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we at Evangeline Parish Library wanted to personally reach out and share the extra precautions your local library is taking to keep our patrons and employees safe.
We are carefully monitoring the recommendations of governmental health agencies, such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local health organizations, and we have further elevated our stringent cleaning and sanitation protocol due to our lending and borrowing policy with other libraries throughout the U.S.
Today, Monday, March 16, 2020, the Evangeline Parish main library and all branches will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS for added precautions for our patrons.
Our staff will work abbreviated hours to sanitize all surfaces and all products that patrons check out and are returned in our drop boxes. This situation will be reevaluated on Friday, March 27, 2020. Additionally we are instituting a Fine Free period that will run from March 16th to May 16th to make sure that patrons do not worry about overdue fees.
We encourage you to continue utilizing our online databases through our website at www.evangelinelibrary.org. Everyone will be able to continue requesting ILL items and checking out ONLINE books, movies, and audio books using our free app called Overdrive / Libby.
Thank you for your longtime trust in Evangeline Parish Library. Our dedicated employees and patrons have been at the center of our business since we opened our first library in 1948 and we remain committed to offering you a safe environment with we re-open to the public.
Yvonne Lavergne,
Director
