REMINDER: The main library and all branch libraries ARE NOW OPENED TO THE PUBLIC with 50% walk-in capacity.  Please note that we highly recommend that you wear a FACE MASK when you are in the library! All libraries haveresumed their regular opening hours, however, all are still closing at 5 pm and while we are in Phase 2 there will be no late Tuesdays at the main library. Also, there will be no Saturday openings at the main library in Ville Platte until after July 11th .  Fine Free period continues until August 31, 2020.

 “Welcome Back Goodie Bags” filled with reading incentives to encourage kids of all ages to READ will continue to be given out. The only requirement to receive the “goodie bag” is that at least two books are checked out. Each bag will also have a writing activity that could help them win ONE additional prize if they use the “Imagine Your Story” form to write down their memories of how the COVID 19 pandemic is affecting them and then return it to the library with their name and phone number!

Duplechain, “God’s Unstoppable Favor” by Grace Vidrine Sibley, and “The Louisiana Sharecroppers: Memories of a Sharecropper’s Daughter” by Morena Johnson Caleb and  “One Night Only” by Lynette Edwards to name a few. New Sunday I’ll feature a few of our male authors.
