Guest Speaker is Mr. Jim Bradshaw who will be speaking on the topic of: The Many Cultures of South Louisiana.
Mr. Bradshaw is a journalist with an abiding interest in Local history. He was raised in Lake Charles, LA where he created his first neighborhood newspaper when he was only 10 years old. He graduated from J.A. Landry Memorial High School and then the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he majored in English and journalism with a minor in history.
He has spent most of his career engaged in journalism in Lafayette. He worked for the Morning Star, Acadian Profile, Opelousas Daily World, but most of his career was with the Daily Advertiser. Since retiring with the Advertiser in 2008, he continues to write popular C’est Vrais column for syndication. New members are welcomed to attend.
