On behalf of the staff and Board of Control, we wish all of our patrons around the Parish a very memorable and soulful Easter Holiday!

Ms. Pat’s “Storytime with Crafts” continue on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons @ 3:30 pm for ages 2-11.  Programs will be either in the Children’s Room or Multipurpose room. Our “Fun with French” program may begin again in May with Irene Nichols. Yeah! We will keep you posted.

Closure notice: Wednesday, April 24th, the main library and all branch libraries will be closed for an all day, all Staff meeting. Normal operating hours will resume on Thursday. Note: There will be no Mystery Book Club meeting this date

Thursday, April 25th, the Quilting Club will meet at 1 pm at the Main Library to continue working on their projects. New members are welcomed.

The Evangeline Genealogical & Historical Society Saturday, April 27, 2019 @ 9:30 – 11:30 am. Their speaker will be Ms. Viola Fontenot (Courville) author of “A Cajun Girl’s Sharecropping Years”, published in 2018.  Her book was awarded by Louisiana Endowments for Humanities book of the Year.  The public is invited to attend.  

Early Notice:  Family Movie Night is slated for Tuesday, April 30th @ 5:45 pm. We will be showing   “PLANET 51”.  Families are invited.

Tuesday, April 16th, the Friends of the Library will meet at the main library at 4:30 pm. The public is invited to attend and new members are always welcomed!

Wednesday, April 17th, our pre-teen / teen (8-16) Just Craftin Around youth club facilitated by Tina Davis will offer a program to continue the program about the book “Making Fairy & Gnome Gardens” @ 4 – 5 pm. New members are always welcomed!

Wednesday, April 17th the Turkey Creek branch library is hosting an Easter Celebration at 3:30 pm. They will have a story time, an Easter Egg hunt, and a craft! The public is invited.

The main library in Ville Platte is hosting an Easter Egg Coloring contest concludes this week. Anyone can still pick up a coloring sheet in their age category (0-3, 4-7, 8-12, or 13-17) at the main library and return it by April 15th for judging.  There will a first, second, and third place prize for each age group. The winners will be contacted on April 16th and prizes can be picked up on April 18th. Please share the news about this fun contest.

Pick up your age-appropriate coloring sheet today and return it on April 15th. The Judging will take place on April 16th and prizes can be picked up on April 18th1st , 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be given in each age group!  Age categories:0-3,  4-7,  8-12,  13-17.  Coloring sheets for you age group can be picked up at the circulation desk or the Childrens room.
