Summer Reading programs continue today with Theatre Acadie at the Prescott Branch, Pine Prairie, at 10 a.m. This event is free to the public. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Mystery Book Club will meet on Wed. June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the main library. Everybody is welcome. The book for the month is “The Strong Poison” by Dorothy Sayers.

Summer Reading Programs continue with Theatre Acadie in Chataignier at 3 p.m. If the new Chataignier Branch is not yet available, the performance will be held at the Village Hall. This event is free to the public. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
A public hearing will be held at the Mamou Branch Library on Tuesday July 24th at 11:30 am to obtain public comments on the proposed amendment of the Library’s operating budget. This amendment addresses needed changes to the budget due to the Chataignier Branch Library construction project.
The Library Board of Control will meet Tues. July 24th at 12 noon at the Mamou Branch Library. The meeting is open to the public, and public comments are welcomed. An agenda will be posted no later than 24 hours before the meeting. Please note that this meeting will be immediately preceded by a public hearing to get public comments on revision of the Library’s operating budget.

Join us for Book Fest on Saturday Oct. 6th! This will be a special one because it also is our 70th anniversary celebration. Rain date is Oct. 13th. Book Sale will begin Oct. 6th and continue through Oct. 13th.
The main library and all branches are closed Thurs. Nov. 22nd through Sunday Nov. 25th, reopening at the regular time(s) on Monday Nov. 26th. We wish everybody a very happy Thanksgiving.

We’ve heard from many adults who speak local French that they would like to have a place to gather to speak French while visiting. So, we are offering an opportunity for folks to join Mrs. Jackie Miller at 3:30 pm on Monday afternoons in the Multipurpose Room at the Main library in Ville Platte for an Allons parler en français experience!
