At the Library for the week of Nov. 7th

Notice: The main library in Ville Platte will be closed on Tuesday, November 8^th as it is a polling place for the Election. All of the branch libraries will be opened.   

Additionally, the main library and all branches will be closed on Friday, November 11^th and Saturday, November 12^th to celebrate Veterans Day.

Save the date: Library Fest on November 19^th from 8 am to 1 pm on the grounds of the main library at 916 W. Main Street, Ville Platte, LA. New participants this week are: Author Julia Beth Davis, Cook Ava Jean serving BBQ, Owner Crystal Fuqua dba Cash Cow Payday Loans, and author Latonya Leary. This is a FREE outdoor event for our patrons to meet new authors and vendors, sample food dishes, and to buy Friends of the Library books! Please get the word out! There are many other programs going on at the main library and the branches so we encourage all to visit the Facebook pages of each to get the current information.

Nonfiction Ebooks: “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” by Samin Nosrat & Wendy MacNaughton. Fiction Ebooks: “It Starts With Us” by Colleen Hoover, and Business: “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.In the event that we don’t own a copy of a title that you would like to read, we can always request it through ILL or Overdrive.
