At the Library for February 5, 2023

In recognition of Black History Month, the following mix of fiction and non-fiction books authored are ready to be checked out: “What We Found in Hallelujah” by Vanessa Miller; “Never Finished” by David Goggins; “Always & Forever” by Farrah Rochon; “The Prodigal son” by Kimberla Lawson Roby; “The Long Fall” by Walter Mosely; “Mercy” by Toni Morrison and a variety of biographies about Martin Luther King Jr.

Ville Platte main will host a Books and Beyond Craft Day on Wednesday, February 8^th @ 4pm. This program fills up quickly so call Ms. Keishia Ford to reserve your spot. Leave a message if necessary.  

The new weekly Chess Club in the Ville Platte multipurpose room on Thursdays @ 4 pm will now include Scrabble and Puzzles! The next game gathering is Thursday, February 9^th @ 4 pm. Please get the word out.  

Turkey Creek branch will offer a Valentine’s Day Craft on February 9th at 4pm! Hope To See You There! Spread The Word!

Weekly free and stimulating programs around the parish: on Mondays the Mamou branch library offers a program called Coffee with Friends. Ville Platte main library offers a conversational French program called Allons Parler Français every Tuesday at 1 pm and Quilting with Friends happens on Thursdays @ 1 pm.

Early Notice about Mardi Gras closures: The Mamou branch library will be closed on Monday, February 20^th and Tuesday February 21^st.  The main library and all branches will be closed only on Tuesday, February 21^st.  Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, February 22^nd.
