August is FINE FREE month at all of the libraries around the parish. Return any item in good condition to the main library or any branch and have all fines on the item (s) waived.   We will also take 50% off existing fines and charges for lost/damaged items if the balance is paid in full in one lump sum payment during this period.

With school starting soon it is important for students of any age to be aware of a few more FREE resources that they can access with their library cards. The following are for the preschoolers, middle schoolers, teens and homeschoolers: The TumbleBooks Collection which includes TumbleBooks (preK), TumbleBooks Cloud Jr (middles schoolers) and Tumble Book Cloud (teens). TumbleBooks for pre-K are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. They are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you. TumbleBooks Cloud Jr (middle schoolers) is a great option for adventurous young readers who wish to read beyond the picture book collection. These databases include educational videos from National Geographic, combined with lesson plans and online quizzes that are a perfect addition to your Common Core Curriculum initiatives. In fact, it includes FREE access to your very own Common Core Portal which includes lesson plans and quizzes aligned to Core Standards. TumbleBooks Cloud Teens (teens) includes the most current YA books, graphic novels, AP English novels and so much more. Please check out this valuable FREE resource! The reading experience using any of these databases is not only educationally sound but fun and customizable! You can access these databases from our webpage 24/7 (www.evangelinelibrary.org).
