August is FINE FREE month at the main library and all branches. Return any item in good condition and have all fines waived. We will also take 50% off existing fines and charges for lost/damaged items if the balance is paid in full during this period. This is your library’s way of saying “Thank you” for your support year-round. Also, for a limited period, you can visit the main library to “fill up a bag of Friends of the Library books” for one dollar! Please share.
In these very challenging times, we’d like to remind the public about an opportunity to leave a memory behind in our “Memory Card Catalog” at the main library in Ville Platte. It is a simple way to be remembered by your family and library patrons forevermore. We are also collecting old library cards. The “Memory” forms are available now at the circulation desk of the main library in Ville Platte.
Our Artist of the Month for the rest of August and the month of September at the main library is Pamela Fruge Bertrand. Pam grew up in Ville Platte and started drawing in 3rd grade. Her love of drawing offered her the opportunity to study under Waven Boone, Michael Bordelon and Mrs. Gertie Mayeax
