At the Library for Dec. 12th

The main library and all branches will be closed this Wednesday, December 15^th, for an-all day all-staff meeting. Regular hours resume on Thursday.

We invite all to make very special memories at the main library in Ville Platte with an opportunity to take family pictures in front of a lovely Christmas background AND also with MICKEY MOUSE!!!December is a FINE FREE month for the main library and all branches around the parish.  Return any item in good condition and have all fines on the item waived.   We will also take 50% off existing fines and charges for lost/damaged items if the balance is paid in full in one lump sum payment during this period. (Conditions may apply with special accounts). This year there is an added incentive for patrons who have old fines on their accounts: we will waive up to $10 with the donation of a child’s gift.  (One gift per account).  Also new this December at the main library in Ville Platte a new incentive for young readers to continue reading through the holidays is planned!
 Our annual Toys for Tots collection program is in full swing at the main library and all branches beginning December 1^st where new, unwrapped kids gifts can be dropped off.  On December 20^th they will be brought to the Mamou Police Department for distribution to needy families.

Here’s another good reason to drop by the Main library in Ville Platte –  beginning December 6^th through December 20^th a child can pick ONE present from under our Library Christmas Tree when they check out 5 books. (Note: only one present per child and the child must be present. This incentive will continue as long as supplies last.)

Take advantage of the Friends of the Library in Ville Platte Christmas Special for donated & withdrawn books – take home a whole bag for only $1.00!!

The Basile branch library is offering a French Table every other Tuesday at 9 am. The last December date is 12/14/21.  Additionally, their last story hour is Thursday, 12/16/21, at 10 am and will include SANTA!
