What’s Happening The Week of June 17, 2019?

Happy, happy Father’s Day to all of the awesome dads in Evangeline Parish!

We hope you start this week off at the main library with our Monday afternoon French programs! “Something French!” for kids and “Allons Parler en Français” for Adults are both offered at 3:30 pm. The kids will meet in the Children’s Room with staff member Irene Nichols and the adults will gather in the multipurpose room with our volunteer Jackie Miller. Please share!

Tuesday begins another week of summer fun around the parish with the SCHOOLHOUSE SAFARI, a family run, mobile, educational exotic animal encounter and mobile petting zoo. The Friends of the Library are the ones to thank for this unique summer adventure! See them on Tuesday, June 18^th at 10 am at the Turkey Creek Branch then at 2 pm only at Ville Platte Main. On Wednesday, June 19^th at 10 am, they will be at the Pine Prairie Branch then at 2 pm at the Mamou Branch Library. On Thursday, June  20^th at 10 am, they will be at Basile Branch Library and then at 2 new branch library in Chataignier. Please share!

Fine Free Month continues through June 28^th.  Overdue fees will be waived and existing fines will be cut in half if the fine is attended to. Contact us if you have any questions

Our Wednesday our pre-teen/teen “Books & Beyond” club will be meeting at 3:30 pm. New members are welcomed.

Early Notices: Tuesday, July 9^th, the Main library will host a Blood Drive  with United Blood Services  from 11 am – 3pm. Also, on the same afternoon our first class of a 5 week FINANCIAL EDUCATION BOOT CAMP sponsored by State Bank and Investar Bank will begin. This camp is FREE to the public but registration is required.  The dates are July 9, 16, 30 & Aug. 6 & 13^th from  6:00 – 7:45 pm. Folks can register online athttp://bit.ly/sbtivbc.
