The Library Board of Control meeting originally scheduled for Nov. 15th was rescheduled for December 1, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the Mamou Branch Library.  The meeting is open to the public, and public attendance and comments are very welcome.  Refreshments will be served.  

The meeting will include consideration of changes to the 2016 operating and sinking fund budgets, as well as the proposed 2017 operating and sinking fund budgets.  In addition, the Board will consider whether to revise the current Electronic Resources Policies or instead keep them as they are now.  A public hearing on the policies, held on November 15th, did not generate any public comments on the current policies.

The agenda will also be posted at the main library and each branch no later than November 29th.

The public hearing for review and comment on the Library’s Electronic Resources Policies will proceed as planned, from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. this afternoon, Tues. Nov. 15th, at the Mamou Branch Library.  However, the Board meeting scheduled to begin immediately following the meeting is being rescheduled to a later date due to the lack of a quorum.  The new date for the Board meeting will be Thursday Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Mamou Branch.

Security Guard, Tedd Lavergne, had no fear of his new pet dog”Bones” when he arrived late Friday afternoon!   

A representative of the Coreil Campus of  SLCC will be at the main library Nov. 1st from 4 pm to 6 pm to discuss the upcoming automotive program on the campus.  If you or somebody you know might be interested in enrolling in this program to learn a much in demand skill in a short time, please come by to talk to the Coreil representative. The public is encouraged to attend.
