At the library for April 19th

We said it before, but we can’t say this enough to our patrons all over the Parish: “WE MISS YOU! however, in accordance with the mandates issued by Governor Edwards, the main library and all branch libraries will continue to be closed to the public until April 30, 2020. We will update you if that date changes. Rest assured that when we reopen you will feel the love. For those of you that miss holding a book in your hands, please visit our Little Free Library located on the picnic table in front of the main library in Ville Platte. We change out the books often. 

Many folks have been using our online resources and that’s a wonderful thing.Those that have had issues with their library cards have emailed or called and gotten assistance. Please feel free to do the same. Remember that even though the main library and the branches are closed, the library is still your resource for self-education, information, and entertainment. Remember that you can continue checking out items (books, movies, audiobooks, etc.) using your regular library card. Our Overdrive/Libby app will allow you to get a free VIRTUAL LIBRARY CARD by using your cell phone number. Our Fine Free period will continue until May 16^thand may be extended if this situation does not improve.
