The main library is participating in the 2020 Tourism event called “Lighting a Path to a Brighter 2021”! We’ve set up a drive by viewing of Mickey Mouse and Christmas trees to keep the magic of this beloved season enjoyable by all! Folks can drop by during the day to stand outside in front of the huge front window to snap a photo with Mickey while maintaining disuse distancing too!
As a reminder: Due to the Louisiana state mandate to move to Phase 2, all public programming at the main library and all branches have been cancelled until January 2021. Specific cancelled programs at main and two branch libraries are: Main – the French Table, Books & Beyond Teen Club, Brilliant Butterflies Storytime & Crafts for kids, Quilting program and the Mystery Book Club. Basile – the French Table and kids programs. Pine Prairie – the Bingo program. However, for the kids and teens in Ville Platte, our library crafters are offering “Take & Make” craft bags that can be taken home to encourage creativity outside of the library. The staff genuinely appreciates the never-ending understanding, patience and support it continues to receive from all patrons!
