The main library and all branches will be opened for their regular hours on Tuesday, June 1st as summer Reading registration continues around the parish. Programming begins the week of June 8th. Please note that each library has its own program days and times. See our event calendar posted on our website (www.evanagelinelibrary.org) and Facebook pages. Bar None Ranch Pony & Petting Zoo will be on site at the following locations with lots of animals to pet and a saddled horse for rides! The first location is Wednesday, June 9th at Ville Platte Main library from 2-4pm; Tuesday, June 15th at the Turkey Creek Branch from 10 -12 and then the Mamou Branch from 2 – 4pm; and the last location on Thursday, June 24th at the Basile Branch library from 10 – noon. So, if you can’t make it to one location, please visit one of the others. Registration begins on Monday, May 24th, at Main and all branch libraries. June is going to be the MAIN month of reading for prizes, crafts, and entertainment at all of our branches on the following days and times: Turkey Creek branch library on Tuesdays @ 10 am Pine Prairie branch library on Wednesdays @ 10 am, Chataignier branch library @ 1 pm (new this year), Mamou branch library @ 2 pm, and Ville Platte Main library @ 4 pm (new this year); Basile branch library on Thursdays @ 10 am. Visit our web and Facebook pages often for updates. One very special new program at the main library in Ville Platte and the branch libraries in Chataignier and Turkey is one that complements our “A Cause for Paws” program. These locations will be offering an “Adopt a Toy Pet” program! Once a reader checks out 10 books they can choose a toy pet that will come with an adoption certificate and so much more (one pert per adoption). Ask about the program when you sign up for Summer Reading!
