At the Library for June 20th

Happy, happy Father’s Day wishes from the staff and the Library Board of Control to all the Dads in Evangeline Parish for a memorable and fun celebration!! The Petting Zoo treat has been a huge success around the parish drawing as much as 300 kids at one event!! If you missed it please note that the LAST date & location to visit the Bar None Ranch & Petting Zoo is on Thursday, June 24^th at the Basile Branch library from 10 – noon. Here’s yet another BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors: Cabot Corporation, Eric Gil State Farm, Vidrine Ace Hardware, Bon Aimee’ Insurance & Real Estate Services, Teet’s Grocery, T-Boys Slaughter House, Basile State Bank, Mercy Regional, and Friends of the Library! It’s because of the commitment to literacy and cultural enrichment opportunities of these sponsors that these summer programs will be fun, fun, fun! The one big performer that we have booked for one day in July is being sponsored by The Friends of the Library! On Friday July 23^rd, we will have Geebo the “Clown and Magician with a Message” at the Pine Prairie Branch Library at 1 pm and then again in Ville Platte Main at 4 pm! June continues to be the MAIN month of reading for prizes, crafts, and entertainment at all of our branches on the following days and times: Turkey Creek branch library on Tuesdays @ 10 am Pine Prairie branch library on Wednesdays @ 10 am, Chataignier branch library @ 1 pm (new this year), Mamou branch library @ 2 pm, and Ville Platte Main library @ 4 pm (new this year); Basile branch library on Thursdays @ 10 am. Visit our web and Facebook pages often for updates. One very special new program at the main library in Ville Platte and the branch libraries in Chataignier and Turkey Creek is one that complements our “A Cause for Paws” program called “Adopt-a-Toy Pet” program! Once a reader checks out 10 books they can choose a toy pet that will come with an adoption certificate and so much more (one pert per adoption). Ask about the program when you sign up for Summer Reading!
