Our new “digital magazine” resource called Flipster is really something! Access is now available also for home computers and laptops without having to use your library card. This website link is on our library webpage and can be saved to your computer or laptop. Note: All mobile device access will require a library card but once you download the free app your sign in is saved. Please call your library if you have any questions. Here’s a quick list for your review: Bon Appetite, Complete Wedding Magazine, Consumer Reports Buying Guide, Dr. Oz: The Good Life, Elle, Entertainment Weekly, Food Network Magazine, Good Housekeeping, HGTV Magazine, Highlights, House Beautiful, New Orleans Magazine, People Prevention, Quilters World, Southern Living, Star, Sunset, The Old House, Woman’s Day.  Through the mobile app you choose Evangeline library and sign in with your library card number. Then the magazine of you your choice can be downloaded and saved as one of your favorites! There is no limit to the number of magazines that you download either. Of special note is that you have access for one week at a time but can be accessed again for another week, etc.  You can also visit the Flipster website to learn more about the many options that are available like the ability to print out articles or recipes (https://flipster.ebsco.com). You can also access the link from our website: http://www.evangelinelibray.org.  This is good news!  As we continue to practice COVID Phase 2 practices of mask wearing and social distance protocols at all of our facilities around the parish, we feel that we are now able to keep our magazine readers happy with this free resource.  

The Library Board of Control will meet at the main library on Thursday, 1/14/21, for its first public meeting of the new year. The public is invited. Masks are required. 

Early closing notice: The main library and all branches will be closed on Monday, 1/18/21, to celebrate the annual Martin Luther King holiday.
