Thinking outside of the box! If you take a drive by the main library in Ville Platte you’ll see a unique idea in play from one of our employees. Tina Deville Davis set up a “Book  Walk” on the library grounds facing W. Main Street. Parents are encouraged to walk and read the “Book” with their children for a unique experience during this unsettling time. While you are there remember to our Little Free Library located on the picnic table in front of the main library in Ville Platte. We change out the books often. We know that it is difficult for a lot of folks to use online services, but remember that you can continue checking out items (books, movies, audiobooks, etc.) using your regular library card. Our Overdrive/Libby app will allow you to get a free VIRTUAL LIBRARY CARD by using your cell phone number. Please see instructions on our webpage @ www.evangelinelibrary.org or www.lsw.overdrive.com to learn more. Email me with any concerns at [email protected]. Also, don’t worry late fees! Our Fine Free period will continue until May 16^thand may be extended if this situation does not improve.

Thank you for your continued understanding and patience. I can tell you that we are now planning how we can re-open in the near future.
