The next Library Board of Control meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday Sept. 19th at 4 pm at the Main Library (242 W. Main St., Ville Platte).  A meeting agenda will be posted at the main library at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.  The meeting is open to the public, and public comments are welcomed and encouraged.  Refreshments will be served.

Thank you to everybody who attended the groundbreaking this morning (Tues. Aug. 14, 2012) for the new main library in Ville Platte!  We had great attendance and support from the Police Jury, Library Board of Control, City of Ville Platte, Library Staff, Friends of the Library, Food for Thought Book Club, Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society, Chamber of Commerce, Ville Platte Rotary Club and other organizations, local banks, and many folks from the community!  Thank you all so much!

We especially thank Ronnie Landreneau of Landreneau & Associates, Brodie Ardoin of Ardoin Architecture, Troy Frick and Nicholas Rodriquez of Troy A. Frick (building contractor), Nancy Duplechain of KVPI, the KATC film crew, Steve Hallam of the Ville Platte Gazette, Bobby Dardeau of the Bonnes Nouvelle, and last but not least our wonderful local photographer Mable Foreman.
