All branches of the Library system will be closed in the morning, Dec. 15th, so that staff can attend a workshop at the main library in Ville Platte, which will also be closed to the public in the morning. Libraries will open in the afternoon at the following times: Ville Platte, 12:30; Mamou, Basile, Pine Prairie, and Turkey Creek, each 1 p.m.; Chataignier, 2 p.m.
The Library Board of Control will hold a public hearing on Wed., Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m. to receive public comment on the proposed 2010 Operating and Sinking Fund budget amendments and on the initial 2011 budget. The hearing will be at the main library.
The Board’s meeting originally scheduled for Dec. 14 has been rescheduled for Dec. 15 at 4 p.m., following the public budget hearing. An agenda will be posted at the main library no later than Monday Dec. 13. Public attendance and comments are welcome, and refreshments will be served.
The Turkey Creek and Chataignier branch libraries will start closing at 5 p.m., beginning the week of Nov. 22nd.
Turkey Creek will not close for lunch, and Chataigner will open one half hour earlier than previously.
