The library-sponsored Mystery Book Club met and chose their January 2016 book: I Heard That Song Before” by Mary Higgins Clark.

The Mamou Branch Library at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22nd will sponsor a STORY HOUR and CRAFTS and SWEET TREATS with Angela Henry, Branch Manager and  Gigi Guillory, Assistant Manager.  Mamou Branch phone number is (337) 468-5750.

The Library Board of Control will meet Tuesday Dec. 15th at 4 p.m. at the Mamou Branch Library.  An agenda is posted at the Library and is also available online at this website. To view the agenda on this website, please click on “Agendas and Minutes” on the right side of this page.

The meeting is open to the public and public attendance and comments are encouraged.  Refreshments will be served.  The Mamou Library, which normally closes at 5 p.m., will stay open to the public until the meeting ends (probably between 5:30 and 6 p.m.).  Public access computers and wireless access, however, will close at the regular time.

This is the meeting for the Board to approve an amended budget for 2015 and adopt a budget for 2016.  These budgets will not be final until they are made available for public comment at the police jury’s budget hearing on Dec. 28th at the parish courthouse, and approved by the police jury as part of its annual budget meeting on Dec. 28th immediately following the public hearing.  The public is welcome to come review the library’s budgets at the Library Board meeting Tuesday Dec. 15th and comment on them before they are sent forward to the police jury.

 Animal Tales, a traveling, animal educational group, will be at the main library (Multipurpose Room) with a variety of exotic animals from all over the world! The public is invited.
